Mpumalanga police recover body of abducted Pretoria man

The body of a 42-year-old man was found half naked with his neck sliced and wrapped in a duvet on the R50 road in Standerton.

Police in Mpumalanga say they are on the hunt for suspects after they found a man’s body, with his neck sliced on the R50.

The man had been reported missing by his father in Pretoria on November 7, 2023.

Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said the man, Wayne Henderson (42), was found covered in a duvet, half naked with his neck sliced on the R50 road in Standerton.

“He was recovered by Standerton police after he was spotted on the R50, about 5km from Standerton by a farm worker in the early hours of Tuesday, November 07, 2023, at about 03:00. The victim is believed to have been abducted in Hercules, Pretoria in Gauteng.”

Mohlala said Henderson was found not far from the vehicle he was reported missing in, by his father.

“On investigation, blood stains were found in the boot of the vehicle, a grey Renault Sandero. The deceased was found with his neck sliced open and a stab wound on his head.”

He said Henderson had been positively identified by a family member.

Mohlala said circumstances surrounding his murder were unclear, however, the Standerton and Hercules police were trying their best to find leads.

He requested members of the public to help with information regarding the murder to contact Standerton’s Captain Sean Brouwer on 079 499 6312 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
