Pro Palestine march from CBD to Union Buildings tomorrow

Around 50 000 pro-Palestine protestors are expected to take part in the picket.

Pro-Palestine protesters are expected to pitch up in their thousands to picket in the streets of the Pretoria CBD tomorrow.

According to the Tshwane metro police (TMPD), the SA Friends of Palestine members are expected to take part in the picket at the Union Buildings, central Pretoria.

“The purpose of the picket is to pledge solidarity with the people of Palestine in South Africa. They are expected to picket at the Union Buildings from 09:00 and will disperse at 14:00,” said TMPD spokesperson, Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba.

The following Streets will be affected:

– Stanza Bopape Street

– Government Avenue

– East Avenue

– Beckett Street

– Eastwood Street

– Edmond Street

– Hamilton Street

– Madiba Street

SAPS and TMPD members will be deployed to monitor the affected areas. Residents and motorists are advised to use the following alternative routes:

– Arcadia Street

– Farenden Street

– Park Street

– Wessels Street

– Johan Street

– Southpansberg Road
