Sadag launches three new mental health support groups
One of the groups is to support unemployed graduates. It is a first-of-a-kind group for Sadag.
Sadag is launching three new online support groups for those struggling with mental health this month.
The SA depression and anxiety group (Sadag) said that the launching of these groups is in celebration of their fourth annual Support Group Awareness Week.
“Having just celebrated our fourth annual support group awareness week, we are excited to welcome three new diverse support groups to the Sadag support group family. We currently host over 170 free mental health support groups around the country,” said Sadag project manager, Krystle Kemp.
The three new groups are for:
– People living with borderline personality disorder which meets on February 9 from 19:00 to 20:00 (group leader Karen 0800 21 22 23).
– People living with depression, anxiety and grief will meet on February 6 at 18:30 on Zoom (group leader Vanessa 076 597 1965).
– Unemployed graduates, which is the first of its kind for Sadag. They will meet on February 15 at 18:00 on Zoom (group leader Will 074 057 1780).
“Access to supplementary mental health support is crucial, especially during these challenging times,” said Sadag operations director Cassey Chambers.
“Our free online support groups enable individuals from diverse backgrounds to come together, support one another, and find the compassion and understanding needed to navigate their mental health journeys.”
