Pageant participant shares empowerment lessons with Pretoria North schoolgirls
Natalie De Mendonça Pinto, Mrs Tshwane 2nd Princess 2023, recently gave young school girls an empowering workshop.
“What do you see when you look at yourself in the mirror?”
That is the question Portuguese interpreter, Natalie De Mendonça Pinto, Mrs Tshwane 2nd Princess 2023, asked Grade 6 and 7 schoolgirls at General Beyers Primary School in Pretoria West recently.
Pinto visited the school by invitation to inform the girls about the empowerment of women and help them with problems they have with bullying.
She could relate to the girls’ problems as she shared experiences from her own school days.
She told the girls about her successes, which led to her being crowned second princess in the Mrs Tshwane competition.
Pinto believes that more could be done at schools and institutions to empower and enrich girls in our society.
