Following roads will be closed near Loftus on Friday

Roads will be affected from 13:30 until 23:30.

Motorists in Arcadia are being warned of a road closure on Friday around the Loftus Versfeld Stadium ahead of a soccer match between Mamelodi Sundowns FC and Young Africans FC.

Tshwane metro police department (TMPD) issued the alert of the match that will take place at 20:00 on April 5.

According to TMPD spokesperson Superintendent Isaac Mahamba, the streets around the stadium are expected to be closed from 13:30 until 23:30.

He urged motorists not to use the following main street intersections, which will be closed for traffic:

– Kirkness Street
– Park Street
– Lynnwood Road
– Bond and Farenden streets
– Loftus Park (main entrance)

Mahamba advised motorists to make use of the following alternative routes:

– Justice Mahomed Street
– Roper Street
– Francis Baard Street
– Pretorius Street
– Stanza Bopape Street

He said that the expected number of spectators is 20 000 and gates to the stadium will open at 16:00.

“Tshwane metro police officers and SAPS will be deployed to monitor all the affected streets.”
