Motorists are advised to avoid the following streets that will be affected by a march. Here is more information.

Pretoria motorists are advised to avoid the following streets affected by a march.

According to the Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD), the marchers will gather from 10:00 at Burgers Park. 

They will then march to the Department of Higher Education, 123 Francis Baard Street, Pretoria

“The purpose of the march is to discuss the payout of the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS).”

The march’s route is as follows: from the gathering point, they will join Lillian Ngoyi Street, turn left onto Visagie Street, and turn right onto Bosman Street. They are expected to disperse at the Department of Higher Education at 14:00. 

The following streets will be affected: 

  • Lilian Ngoyi Street 
  • Visagie Street 
  • Bosman Street 
  • Francis Baard Street 

The TMPD and the South African Police Services will be deployed to monitor the march and all affected streets. 

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes such as: 

  • Struben Street
  • Pretorius Street 
  • Madiba Street 
  • Johannes Ramokhoase Street 

Meanwhile, calls have been made to the National Department of Transport to write off all unpaid e-toll debts immediately.
