Several streets closed due to rugby match in east of Pretoria
The roads will remain closed until 18:00.
The Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) has advised motorists to steer clear of several routes on Saturday, May 18, due to a rugby match at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
The Road Law Enforcement Agency said four routes around the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in the east of Pretoria would remain closed off during the sporting event.
It advised motorists to use alternative routes.
“Take note that there will be a rugby match between Vodacom Bulls and Benetton (Italy) at Loftus Versfeld Stadium at 14:00,” said TMPD in a statement.
The following intersections around the stadium will be closed from 08:00 until 18:00:
-Park Street and Kirkness Street
-Kirkness Street and Lynwood Road
-Bond Street and Kirkness Street
-Farenden Street and Bond Street
Motorists are advised to avoid and use alternative routes such as:
-Francis Baard Street
-Pretorius Street
-Stanza Bopape Street
-Justice Mohamed Street
-Florence Ribeiro Street
-Middel Street
-Jan Shoba Street
-Leyds Street
Tshwane Metro Police and South African Police Service officers will be deployed to monitor all affected streets.
