Spiking on R80 despite recent successes

Another spiking incident has been reported on the R80 in Pretoria despite recent successes by various stakeholders.

A Pretoria motorist recently escaped unharmed after being the latest victim of a spiking incident on the R80 in Pretoria.

According to the information received, the incident happened on the R80 near the Theo Martins Poort at 20:40 on Sunday evening.

This comes after a joint operation was conducted last week.

The Boschkop SAPS, Tshwane District SAPS, Echo 1 Security, Lakes Security Forum and Boschkop CPF were part of the joint operation.

A total of eight people were arrested for serious crimes, while three illegal firearms were recovered. Stolen goods were recovered as well as illegal ammunition.

  • R80 Mabopane Freeway from Eskia Mphahlele Road to Soshanguve
