Missing Centurion man found safe in Pretoria east
Hendrik Pryor (76) from Valhalla, who never arrived at his brother’s home in Bronkhorstspruit, was luckily found, but in a very disoriented state.
An elderly Centurion man who went missing on Friday, November 8, was found safe in Pretoria East the night of Saturday, November 9.
Hendrik Pryor (76) of Valhalla, Centurion, left his home on Friday morning to visit his brother in Bronkhorstspruit but never reached his destination.
According to his daughter, Corne Pryor, her father is now home safely, following the distressing time.
Corne said her father reached Bronkhorstspruit, but he however did not reach his intended destination after he got confused, prompting him to return to Alphen Park in the east of Pretoria.
“He did not reach his brother’s place,” she said.
According to ICE Community Network spokesperson Paul Visser, Pryor was found safe and reunited with his family.
Visser said Pryor was sitting in his vehicle at MBT garage Alphen Park.
“We believe that he was sitting in the car since Friday night and he was in a very disoriented state.”
Visser expressed his gratitude to everyone who assisted in the search.
He said Pryor left on Friday to go visit his brother in Bronkhorstspruit but he didn’t reach his destination.
He said Pryor was driving in his white Ford Bantam and lost contact with his family.
“When he left, he was wearing blue denim shorts with a blue check shirt and his phone was off and his car does not have a Tracker.”
He also said Pryor was reported missing at the Wierdabrug Police Station.
The police issued out information on how to report a missing person:
– If someone close to you is missing, you should report them to the police as soon as possible. You do not need to wait 24 hours.
– When a person goes missing, it is of the utmost importance for the SAPS to fulfil their mandate to serve and protect the citizens of South Africa.
You can assist police when reporting a missing person by following these steps:
– There is no waiting period to report a person missing.
– Report a missing person at your nearest police station immediately.
– Produce a recent photograph of the missing person, if possible.
– Give a complete description of the missing person’s last whereabouts, clothes they were wearing, as well as any information that can assist the investigating officer.
– Complete and sign a SAPS 55(A) form. This form safeguards the SAPS from hoax reports and indemnifies the SAPS for distributing the photograph and information of the missing person.
– Obtain the investigating officer’s contact details, and send through any additional information that might become available.
