Tshwane’s 107 Emergency line remains down

The City of Tshwane's 107 emergency line remains down. Residents should use alternative numbers for fire and rescue emergencies.

The City of Tshwane’s 107 emergency line remains down due to a fiber line issue, with technicians actively working to restore service. Residents are urged to use alternative numbers for fire and rescue assistance in the interim.

According to the Tshwane Emergency Services Department spokesperson Lindsay Zwelithini Mnguni, the toll-free emergency number remains down due to intermittent connectivity issues.

“Our technical support team is working diligently to resolve the problem, which originated from a broken fiber line, causing congestion of incoming and outgoing calls.”

He said restoring the system’s full functionality is a top priority, and our team is urgently addressing the matter.

“In the meantime, we urge the public to use the following alternative numbers for fire and rescue emergencies: +27 83 232 5398 or +27 82 879 1191.

“We will inform the community through this channel as we receive updates.

“We appreciate your patience and understanding.”
