What you need to know about refuse collection during the festive season
The metro reminds the public that Tshwane waste disposal facilities (landfills and garden sites) will be closed on Christmas Day (December 25).
Tshwane residents are advised that refuse removal services will continue as normal during the festive season, except on public holidays.
Metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said residents are advised that refuse collection will follow the normal schedule until December 24.
No collection will occur on Christmas Day. Thereafter, all scheduled collections will be pushed back by a day until Saturday, December 28.
Mashigo said the public is urged to place their refuse bags and bins outside on collection days.
He added that collection will return to normal from Monday, December 30.
“The public should note that Tshwane waste disposal facilities (landfills and garden sites) will also be closed on December 25.
The city apologises for any inconvenience this may cause,” he said.
