Dealer nabbed with over 30 packets of drugs
A tip-off to the intelligence team led to the arrest.
The Gauteng Department of Community Safety recently arrested a suspected drug dealer found with 31 packs of drugs on his person.
In a social media post, the department announced that the arrest occurred on January 7 during a patrol and intelligence-gathering operation in Marabastad.
It said the Gauteng Traffic Police, Gauteng Traffic Wardens, and SAPS Reaction Team acted on information received from a source.
The tipster had informed authorities of the dealer’s location and the criminal activities that he was up to.
“The tip-off pointed to a male suspect at the corner of Bloed and Kgosi Mampuru Street allegedly involved in drug dealing. Upon conducting a search, the officers recovered 31 brown plastic packets containing a suspicious powdery substance and 4 small white stones,” the post read.

The suspect was apprehended and charged with possession of illegal substances.
