Job seekers warned of fake Tshwane bus driver interviews
Metro spokesperson Selby Bokaba warns the public of the latest fake job interview scam doing the rounds.
The Tshwane metro is alerting the public to be wary of a job scam circulating on social media.
The scam involves luring job seekers to a fake job interview for a bus driver position for the Tshwane bus service.
According to Tshwane spokesperson Selby Bokaba, the metro has been made aware of a misleading invitation to attend “job interview examinations” for bus drivers’ vacancies.
“The scammer/s call unsuspecting job seekers on their mobile phones to inform them that their applications have been approved, and they are invited to attend what they call an interview examination on a given date and time,” Bokaba explained.
“The scammer/s then direct the candidates to the city’s C De Wet bus depot as the venue for the interview examination.”
However, Bokaba stated that there is no such invitation from the metro.
He urged the public to always be vigilant of fraudulent activities.
“The public is cautioned not to fall for this scam, as there is no such invitation from the metro.”
