Police bust Pretoria online drug syndicate

Investigations revealed that one of the products sold online as a "fat burner" contained Dimethylphenethylamine, an isomer of methamphetamine (commonly known as crystal meth or Tik).

Police dismantled an online drug syndicate operating from East Lynne, Pretoria, on Tuesday.
The syndicate was selling illicit steroids, scheduled medicine, stimulants, and other performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) to consumers.

SAPS spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Amanda van Wyk said a number of suspects had been apprehended at various locations in Pretoria, following a thorough investigation that included forensic analysis.

“Investigations that included a forensic analysis revealed that one of the products sold online as a ‘fat burner’ contained dimethylphenethylamine, an isomer of methamphetamine (commonly known as crystal meth or Tik),” she said.

According to police, the scene is still active.
