Residents sniff out bargains at Boot Sale
The first Boot Sale of the year at accommodated around 160 vendors.
Hundreds of locals enjoyed a Saturday out at the Lavender Kontrei Mark’s (LKM) first Boot Sale of the year this past weekend.
The Lavender Kontrei Mark holds the car boot sale twice a year and it serves as a platform for lesser-known vendors to showcase their products.
Vendors who may not meet the regular market requirements or may be turned away due to product availability, sell their goods directly from their car boots.
Nicola van Rooyen, a member of LKM’s management team, says the sale on Saturday accommodated around 160 vendors.
“We do hand-made crafts and fresh products, that’s our main stuff. Also with the Boot Sale, we have a few retail products here and obviously a lot more extra vendors who don’t get the opportunity to feature in our weekly markets,” Van Rooyen said.
The market offers a wide array of products and also has an enclosed kids’ area for the little ones to play all day while parents enjoy shopping.
Additionally, the boot sale offers free kids’ activities outside the kids’ zone such as tractor and quad bike rides, making it a great outing for the whole family.
For the rest of the year, LKM is looking forward to holding the Gin Fest in June as well as the Succulent Festival at the end of March which features more than 150 succulent stalls.
