Missing Eric Jones found dead 300m from abandoned car in Diepsloot

Missing Eric Jones was found dead by loved ones in Diepsloot, just 300 metres from his abandoned car. Here is the latest information.

The search for missing Pretoria man Eric Jones ended in heartbreak on Saturday morning when family and friends discovered his lifeless body just 300 metres from where his abandoned vehicle was found in Diepsloot.

Desperate to find answers, friends and family members of missing Eric organised a search in Diepsloot — the area where his locked vehicle was found. Police are currently on the scene with his friends and family members.

The 33-year-old Eric Jones was last seen in Pretorius Park, Pretoria East, on Thursday afternoon.

He was wearing navy blue golf pants, a white golf shirt, and a matching white golf cap.

Eric is 1.75m tall, weighs approximately 75kg, and has brown hair and blue eyes.

According to his best friend, Anthony Kaufmann, their last conversation was on WhatsApp at 16:35, after which Eric’s cellphone was switched off.

Further deepening the mystery surrounding Eric Jones’ tragic death, friends uncovered crucial details during their search — revealing that Eric was at the Menlyn Maine Casino on Thursday night and was last seen alive on surveillance footage leaving alone in his car shortly after 04:00 on Friday morning.

He vanished soon after, and his vehicle was found abandoned and locked with all his belongings inside hours later in Diepsloot.
