This repair work entails the stringing of the Waltloo/Njala power lines from Tower 58 to Tower 59, crossing over the Bronkhorstspruit Road (R104),

Tshwane’s energy and electricity department, in conjunction with TCT Civil and Construction Company, will repair the Waltloo/Njala power lines on Thursday, May 29.

The work will mean a 10-hour power supply interruption from 07:00 until 17h00.

According to metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo, this essential work is a continuation of the repairs that started on Monday, May 26.

“This repair work entails the stringing of the Waltloo/Njala power lines from Tower 58 to Tower 59, crossing over the Bronkhorstspruit Road (R104),” Mashigo said.

He added unfortunately, the complexity of the scope of work resulted in unforeseen delays in completing the repairs on Monday.

The following areas will be affected:

– Mooiplaas plots and business amenities

– Willowbrae

– Willow Park.

Mashigo urged motorists, cyclists and pedestrians using the R104 to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings in this area during the period of the repair work.

“Customers are advised to treat all electricity supply points as live at all times.”

Mashigo said the city apologises profusely for the inconvenience that may be caused as a result of the abovementioned work.
