New leadership for Pretoria police stations
A new group of SAPS leaders has been introduced to strengthen policing in the Tshwane district.
Pretoria’s police stations welcomed a new wave of leadership on March 10. The recently promoted SAPS officers stepped into their roles aimed at boosting service delivery and community safety.
The Tshwane District Commissioner, Samuel Thine, introduced the newly promoted officers to the station commanders of the Tshwane District during the District Crime Combating Forum (DCCF).
These officers received their new ranks during a ceremony in Paarl, where their ranks were officially presented to them by the National Commissioner of the South African Police Service, Fannie Masemola.
The event formed part of an induction programme aimed at preparing the officers for their new leadership responsibilities.

Among those introduced in the district were Colonel Gert Corbett, who assumes duties as station commander at Pretoria Moot, and Lieutenant-Colonel Corlia Nel, who will lead the Welbekend station.
Other officers who received promotions include Lieutenant-Colonel Lazarus Chauke, Colonel Teressa Spammer, who will serve as support head at Brooklyn, as well as Captains Ngema Lediga and Gerhardus Breetzke.
Thine said the promotions carry significant responsibility for the officers stepping into leadership roles.
“These promotions are not only a recognition of the hard work and dedication of our members but also a call to serve with greater commitment, discipline and professionalism,” he said in a statement released by the SAPS.
Thine further emphasised the importance of ethical leadership and service to communities.
“As leaders, you are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity and ensure that policing in your respective stations continues to prioritise the safety and well-being of the communities we serve,” he added.
