Pretoria’s ultimate treasure hunt: Mall Vintage Takeover

This past Saturday, Irene Village Mall traded the usual retail routine for a massive, high-energy vintage flea market. From rare coins to ‘perfectly simple’ thrifted gems, here’s why this event is a Pretoria favourite.

The Pretoria Vintage & Décor Show wasn’t just a shopping trip; it was a full-blown lifestyle experience where variety was the star of the show.

Irene Village Mall recently received a total makeover, turning its open-air walkways into a vibrant, old-school marketplace. With over 120 exhibitors, the entire mall transformed into a treasure hunter’s paradise.

For those who love a bit of history, the collection was incredible. Stalls were packed with everything from rare antique coins to vintage swords and historical firearms, making every corner feel like a mini-museum. While the unique Egyptian oil perfumes added a nice touch to the atmosphere, the real buzz came from the massive variety of food stalls that kept everyone fuelled up and happy throughout the day.

The fashion scene was equally impressive, offering a mix that hit every style note. Shoppers could hunt for ‘high-class’ labelled coats and premium materials or keep it laid-back with ‘perfectly simple’ thrift finds. Between the handmade leather bags, artisanal belts, and cool vintage threads, there was something for every wardrobe.

With free entry and a pet-friendly vibe, the show has become the go-to weekend outing for families and collectors alike. If you missed out on the fun this time, keep a close watch on their social media. There are more of these vintage takeovers planned for the year, and they are definitely worth the trip!
