Upon reaching the location in question, the police located the suspects and began following them.

After a short pursuit, a preplanned takedown was initiated and the four occupants of the vehicle were all taken into custody.

The car in question is a white Toyota Prado SUV, which was found to have been stolen after the falsified registration plates were removed.

According to police, the car was stolen in Wierdaberg.

No weapons, drug paraphernalia or other contraband were found in the vehicle.

Pretoria West SAPS station commander Colonel Margret Nkwana applauded the officers for their swift response to the tip-off and for bringing the perpetrators to book. Nkwana also urged the community to continue working closely with the police.

Tshenolo also commended the efforts by the partners involved in the arrest, with special mention of the Pretoria West SAPS.

The four suspects will appear in the Pretoria magistrate’s court in due course.
