Denlyn mall pageant gives confidence to the little ones
Little & Miss Teen Denlyn mall pageant is open to children between the ages of 6 and 17 years.
Black Chair Events in collaboration with Denlyn Mall/Safari held a successful and electrifying Little and Miss Teen Denlyn Mall 2022 over the weekend.
The event is now in its second year.
The founder of Black Chair Event, Mimi Mashigo, said Miss Teen was added to the annual event this year because of great demand from parents.
Bophelo Masinga (8) was crowned Little Miss Denlyn 2022 and Puseletso Ramohlabi (13) the first ever Miss Teen Denlyn 2022 in an electrifying event.
The Miss Little Denlyn Mall first princess was Londekile Mahlangu (8) with Thandolwethu Ramohlabi (10) crowned second princess.
In the teen category, the first princess was Oratilwe Mofokeng (13) and the second princess, Xoli Seloma.
Mashigo said there were 13 contestants in the Little Miss category and 15 teens this year.
“Little and Miss Teen Denlyn Mall 2022 is a pageantry platform that is open to children at the beginning of their education journey aged six to 17.
“The competition is not about beauty but to build confidence at a young age and encourage the girls that everything is possible in life,” said Mashigo.
Mashigo said the girls were prepared by SA Miss Teen 2019 queen and founder of OM Pageant Coaching, Oratilwe Mashigo, over five sessions to teach the girls how to strut the catwalk and work on building their confidence and self-esteem for the stage.
“We are working together with OM Pageant Coaching, which offered a helping hand to the young girls to polish their confidence and voice in preparation for the pageant,” she said.
“Our vision is to expose young pupils to different industries that enable them to turn their passion into purpose and then host events in the entire City of Tshwane as we grow.”
All the winners walked away with prizes sponsored by different shops at Denlyn Mall.
The date for the next competition will be announced early next year.
