Man dies in Erasmia single vehicle accident
It is alleged that the back tyre of the car ‘popped’ and caused the car to roll over.
A man believed to be in his 30s died after a single vehicle accident in Erasmia on Sunday afternoon.
The car, with four male passengers, capsized on the M26 road at about 17:00.
Speaking to Rekord, a response officer at Vision Tactical said two other passengers sustained critical injuries and one only minor injuries.
“It seems as if the car rolled over after the back tyre popped,” he said.
“The car capsized and left the passengers injured.”
The response officer said the man was declared dead on the scene by emergency medical services workers.”
He said the two men that were seriously injured required advanced life support systems before being transported to the hospital by Netcare911.
He added that one of them sustained injuries to the head.
