Eersterust suspected drug dealers nabbed
The suspects were arrested after they were spotted selling narcotics to the public.
Two suspected drug dealers were arrested on Wednesday morning when they were found in possession of drugs outside an Eersterust residence.
The two suspects, aged 35 and 41, were arrested on Archbell Avenue at a house known as a drug den
The arrest came after police received a tip-off about two men in a Silver Mazda Soho selling narcotics to the public.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Sam Shibambo said officers rushed to the given address and managed to spot the suspects’ car as it was parked under the carport.
Shibambo said the officers searched both the driver and the passenger.
“During the search, the officers found drugs suspected to be CAT and Mandrax,” he said.
“The suspects also had a considerable amount of cash suspected to be the proceeds of drug dealing.”
Both suspects were arrested for the possession and dealing in drugs and are expected to appear before the Hatfield magistrate’s court soon.
Last week, a notorious drug dealer was arrested in Eersterust when he was found to be in possession of drugs.
He was arrested on Titus Avenue, a street notorious for dealing drugs.
The 30-year-old suspect found himself locked up for the fourth time this year.
He was previously arrested in February, March and April for the same offence.
He was found with drugs believed to be Crystal Meth and cocaine.
The station commander of SAPS Eersterust Lieutenant-Colonel Simon Theledi thanked his members for the swift response.
He further thanked members of the community for exposing the suspects.
