Pretoria stations top South African Radio Awards with 54 nomination

It’s time for the annual radio awards again. And Pretoria radio stations have raked in the nominations.

Tuks FM beats their previous record with 29 nominations, and Groot FM received 19 nominations. Pretoria FM, Tshwane FM and Impact Radio also received nominations in a variety of categories.

The South African Radio awards recognise the best in radio broadcasting with 89 awards across 27 general categories.

Tuks FM broke their record as they received 29 nominations. They congratulated their team in a Twitter post: “a huge congratulations to all our nominees”.

Groot FM said in a Facebook post, “a big thank you to every role and team player, every client and listener. Above all, to our Heavenly Father who gives us this platform to be a facilitator of His Light.”

Tuks FM was nominated for the station of the year; afternoon drive presenter (3 nominations); afternoon drive show; breakfast show presenter (3); breakfast show; community project (3); content producer; daytime show (3); music show (2); news and actuality show; news bulletin reader (2); night-time show (2); promotion stunt/event (3); sports show; and weekend radio show (2).

Groot FM was nominated for the station of the year; afternoon drive presenter (2 nominations); afternoon drive show; breakfast show presenter; community project (2); daytime show (3); news and actuality show; news bulletin reader; night-time show; promotions stunt/event (3); station imaging, as well as the My Station listeners awards for most votes and most loyal listeners.

Pretoria FM was nominated for drama programme, news and actuality and news bulletin reader.

Impact Radio got two nominations for afternoon drive and news bulletin.

Tshwane FM got one nomination for Sports show.

The date for the South African Radio Awards have not been set yet.
