Centurion singer and radio presenter to perform at the Grand Opry in Nashville, Tennessee on October 23.
A Centurion singer and radio presenter has made history by becoming the first South African to perform at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee USA.
Huter Leite said the Grand Ole Opry was the place where all the big stars from different countries connect and meet.
She said it was an absolute honour for her to set foot there let alone perform on such a big stage.
“To be nominated for the music awards hosted at the Grand Ole Opry is out of this world, it’s mind-blowing,” she said.
Leite is nominated in two categories, World music artist of the year and Vocal event of the year.
She said the world music category meant that she is nominated in all categories and the Vocal event of the year only meant that she was nominated for a song on which she collaborated with Amy McAllister and Corey Lee Baker.
She revealed that Harties FM will broadcast live from the venue.
“Harties is going to Nashville, so we are the first radio station to broadcasting live out of the USA and Nashville of all places, and this is huge for my career.”
Leite told Rekord that she started singing at the very tender age of 13 years, won a talent competition and later took singing lessons to boost her vocals.
The award ceremony will broadcast live on October 23 at 18:30 ET.
Apart from her music career, Leite doubles up as MC at events such as Hayward Diamonds, VVIP functions, , Miss South Africa, awards ceremonies, government functions as well as SAA, Denel and SANBS.
