Police need help in finding missing man
‘We have searched almost everywhere at hospital, police station, government mortuaries, friends and family relatives, with no sign of him.’
The Mamelodi east police have asked the public to help in locating a missing Alaska informal settlement man.
Police spokesperson, Constable Lethabo Mashiloane said the police have already started the investigations and plead with the public to assist in finding Ralfie Senkomane Chauke (37), who was last seen by a family member on October 1.
At the time of his disappearance, Senkomane was wearing long grey trousers, a sky blue T-shirt and white takkies.
“His wife reported him missing on October 10, after days of searching for him,” said Mashiloane.
His wife, Reginah Makofane, said the last time saw her husband was around 09:00 on his way to see a friend and visit the mall afterwards.
“However, he never returned home and we only started searching for him late that night,” said Makofane.
“This is not the first time he went missing. He will always come back but he has never been missing for so long.”
She said the night before his disappearance, his colleagues had come looking for him to collect on the R750 he owed them but had not returned since he went missing.
“We have searched for him almost everywhere, at hospitals, squatter camps, and relatives’ homes, with no sign of him,” she said.
She said they even went to his workplace and were told that he had not been to work in days.
Mashiloane said there is no waiting period to report a missing person.
