‘Badly decomposed’ body found near N14

The body was discovered near Clubview in Centurion, says paramedic services.

Wierdabrug police have opened an inquest after the badly decomposed body of a man was found hanging from a tree next to the N14 highway.

According to police spokesperson Sergeant Tinyiko Nkuna, the body was beyond recognition and the man’s clothing was in tatters.

“He has not been identified yet,” she said.

No one has been reported missing at the Wierdabrug police station or at any of the surrounding stations which fit the deceased’s description.

According to Cert-SA, the body was discovered near Clubview in Centurion.

“The police have opened an investigation,” Cert-SA said in a statement.

“The circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known.”

The Cert-SA team thanked the Wierdabrug SAPS and Gauteng pathology for their assistance at the scene.

Meanwhile, the team also attended to an incident in which a person had overdosed on prescription medication in Doringkloof.

The person was transported to a nearby hospital in a stable condition.
