East residents without power after Willows substation trip
Fallen trees during the storm damaged overhead power cables which could be part of the cause of the trip.
Parts of Pretoria east were left without power on Tuesday morning after a power trip at the Willows substation.
The Tshwane metro said that the systems operator team was still busy with an outage at the Holgate substation and would attend to the Willows substation after.
An estimated time to resolve the matter was not yet available.
The trip comes after a night of heavy rains over Pretoria, which the Tshwane metro previously issued a warning for:

Fallen trees during the storm damaged overhead power cables and could be part of the cause of the trip, the metro said in a statement.
“Damaged power lines were seen in Jocelyn Street nearby the substation.”
To add insult to injury, Eskom announced earlier today that stage 2 load-shedding would be implemented from 09:00.
The power utility said that this was due to a breakdown of a generating unit at Duvha power station and delays in returning another unit to service.
