Five arrested in Pretoria east home in R500k drug bust
“TMPD responded to a tip-off about a white vehicle that was delivering drugs in Atterbury Road in Pretoria.”
Five men were arrested during a police operation that found drugs worth an estimated value of R500 000 in a home in the east of Pretoria on Tuesday.
According to a TMPD statement published on social platforms, the drug bust came about after they received a tip-off about a white vehicle that was delivering drugs in Atterbury Road.
“The officers traced a suspect to his residence at a complex. Inside his unit, they found four suspects busy packaging nyaope (heroin) and crystal meth.

The five accused, all Nigerian nationals, were charged with dealing and being in possession of drugs.
Tshwane mayor Randall Williams applauded TMPD for the drug bust.
“This drug bust follows another successful operation by TMPD last month where 11 foreign national suspects were arrested for dealing and possession of drugs valued at nearly R700 000.

“I would like to thank our TMPD drug unit team for their excellent work in protecting our communities and young people from drugs.”
Williams said he believed the drug bust should indicate to residents that while there were corrupt officers, the majority of TMPD officers were committed to their jobs.
