Mamelodi police seek help to find missing mother, two daughters

‘All I want, is to find my sister and her two daughters, safe and unharmed.’

Police have asked for the public’s help in the mysterious disappearance of a Ndwadwe Street Extension 8 Mamelodi East mother and her two daughters on November 5.

Lerato Montja (32) and her two daughters Kelebogile (8) and 10-month-old Onalenna were last seen by her grandmother as they left for Denlyn mall for grocery shopping, according to police spokesperson Constable Lethabo Mashiloane.

He said Lerato and her two children were also supposed to meet up with her elder sister around 10:00.

Kelebogile Montja (8) went missing her mother.

Another sister, Elizabeth Montja said, “we are worried sick as it’s already been more than a week since they disappeared”.

She said Lerato had told her grandmother, with whom she lived, that she was going to meet her elder sister at the mall but never arrived.

Lerato Montja (32) went missing last week.

“We searched for her almost everywhere. One of her friends saw her at Mams mall that same day and said Lerato told her she was going to the mall,” said Montja.

She said the family suspected that Lerato went to Mams mall to withdraw money for a taxi fare to Denlyn mall.

“Our elder sister said they had earlier spoken on the phone, but when she called her again after she missed their appointment, her cellphone was off,” said she said.

“I cannot think straight anymore. All I want is to find my sister and her two daughters, safe and unharmed. It has been days since she went missing.”

Mashiloane said there is no waiting period to report a missing person.
