Boy (8) dies in Centurion horror crash

Paramedics responded to the scene of a collision involving a light delivery vehicle and an SUV.

An eight-year-old boy was killed in a horror crash on Tuesday morning, November 15, at the intersection of Ruimte and Saxby roads in Centurion.

Two adults and two other children sustained moderate injuries, according to Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle van Reenen.

“Around 07:15 on Tuesday, paramedics responded to the scene of a collision involving a light delivery vehicle and an SUV at the intersection,” said Van Reenen.

When paramedics arrived, the delivery vehicle was found to have overturned after the collision with the SUV.

On closer inspection, paramedics found two adults and two children to have sustained moderate injuries.

“A third child, an eight-year-old boy, was found some metres from the vehicle having been ejected in the collision.

“The boy, unfortunately, sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead on arrival.”
