NGO showcases matric trophies at Loftus stadium
The NGO believes celebrating learners for their efforts will promote the love of education.
Local NGO, Kool 2B South African showcased its Matrics Glory Floating Trophies at Loftus stadium recently as part of the trophy tour.
Fully dubbed the McCarthy Toyota Hatfield Kool 2B South African Matrics Glory Floating Flag Trophies, the awards will commemorate Tshwane’s highest-performing matriculants on January 19, 2023.
“We were incredibly welcomed by the rugby fans and [they] supported the initiative,” said the president and founder of Kool 2B South African, Khaya “Kool” Seoketsa.
Rugby fans who were there to see the Blue Bulls take on the Ospreys did not mind stopping for pictures with the trophies and learning more about the initiative.
Kool 2B South African also visited the Gauteng education department earlier this month.
The NGO visited Toyota Hatfield as well at the start of the month to unveil the trophies to partners. Unveiling the trophies were Dineo Lekalakala of Toyota Hatfield and President Seoketsa of Kool 2B South African among others.
The three categories in which the trophies are up for grabs include best district, best provincial and best in mathematics, science and technology.
This year, the Tshwane South district received the best national district award on July 22 for its effort during the mid-year exams and will no doubt be looking to retain the title.
Kool 2B South African intends to keep touring the region, showcasing the trophies which will identify the districts with the best performing matrics.
The NGO believes initiatives such as these, in which learners are celebrated for their efforts, will inspire other young ones to follow the same path instead of resorting to a life of crime and violence.
