Oppie Bol Foundation seeks food donations for their clients

We encourage residents to be the change they want to see.

Christmas was about giving love and part of giving love and part of showing love was gifting the needy people this festive, the Opi Bol Foundation CEO Caz Hendrick told Rekord.

Hendricks said this while being interviewed by the publication on the foundation’s needs for the festive season.

“Christmas is about giving and sharing. We need food parcels to feed persons with disabilities and their families that do not have the means to buy a Christmas meal.

As Christmas is a time when people unite with their families and friends, gifts, toys, clothes, toiletries, and food, both frozen and tin food are some of the major items needed during this time,” he added.

Hendricks said the organisation has engaged in different programs this year in a bid to inspire and motivate people living with disabilities.

The CEO said motivations and speeches were not enough as most of the people they were trying to equip as the organisation was unemployed, adding that made their work even more challenging as they did not have the means to help each and every one of them.

Furthermore, he said the organisation lacked the means to organise enough food for their clients.

“We do not have sufficient funding and resources to feed our clients. Some of the critical items that we need are a chest freezer to store frozen foods, big pots to cook larger meals, gas stove with bottles to cook the food as it is portable and energy efficient.

It will enable us to take and make food in the regions at the places of our beneficiaries”.

The founder and CEO encouraged residents to donate to the organisation and be part of the movement that sought to bring about change in other people’s lives.

The Opi Bol Foundation is a Non Government Organisation that seeks to have a society where people living with disabilities are valued in mainstream society and where they are recognised for their abilities rather than their disabilities.

People who want to donate to the organisation can contact the organisation via its email address on caz@oppiebol.org.za or contact Caz Hendricks on 082 818 2956.
