Two airlifted following an accident on the N1

Two others sustained injuries in the accident late on Sunday afternoon.

Four people were injured in an accident on the N1 near the Samrand off-ramp late on Sunday afternoon, January 22.

When medics arrived at the scene, three people, of whom two were trapped, were in a critical condition, according to Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle van Reenan.

One person had been ejected from the wreckage.

“Advanced life support paramedics worked fervently to stabilise the three persons before a decision was made to airlift two with the assistance of the Netcare 911 aeromedical helicopter services,” said Van Reenan.
