Security cameras in Menlo Park helps recover stolen property

When the officers reacted, the suspect ran away, but despite a chase, he eluded capture.

Thanks to artificial intelligence, stolen property was recovered in Menlo Park on Friday, March 17.

Security company, Complete Security Intelligence (CSI) cameras picked up a man pushing two bicycles around 02:38 on Friday.

CEO of CSI Dana Bloem said reaction officers were immediately dispatched to go investigate.

“The suspect fled into the shadows of the precinct as quickly as his feet could take him as he noticed the reaction officers approaching.

“The response officers scoured the streets and conducted patrols in an effort to find the culprit and any other suspicious activities,” he said.

“The two bicycles were recovered before they could be lost forever or sold on the illegal market,” he added.

Bloem said the bicycles were successfully returned to their owners.

“We traced the owners and after putting a message in community groups they came forward and gave a positive description of the bicycles.

“The stolen property was then handed back to the owners in Marais Street in Brooklyn.”

According to the owner, the suspect forced entry into the yard.

“He came over the side wall and forced the fence down to get into the yard.”

Bloem said CSI will continue to use technology to fight crime.

“We will always be a step ahead of the criminals and always on their trail until crime is eradicated in our communities.”

He urged anyone to report any suspicious activity.
