One critical following head-on crash in Mnandi

This patient had to be resuscitated before being taken to a nearby hospital for further care.

Three people were injured, one critically, in a head-on collision on the R114 in Mnandi, Centurion on Monday.

“On Monday afternoon around 15:21, our Centurion crew responded to a motor vehicle collision between a light motor vehicle and a truck,” said emergency service CERT-SA in a statement.

According to the statement, two occupants of the truck sustained minor injuries and were treated on the scene.

The occupant of the car sustained serious injuries and had to be extracted from the wreckage using the Jaws of Life.

This patient had to be resuscitated before being taken to a nearby hospital for further care.

Netcare911, ER24, Gauteng emergency medical services, Laudium disaster management, Tshwane emergency services, Tshwane metro police and the Olievenhoutbosh CPF were on the scene.

According to SVTA/Lifemed spokesperson Dean Slater, the cause of the accident would be investigated by the police.
