Two Laudium women injured in dog attack
One of the women was taken to hospital in a serious condition following the pit bull attack.

Two women were “viciously” attacked by a dog near Corundum and 19th streets in Laudium on Tuesday, March 28.
This was according to paramedics who attended to the scene.
Paramedics reported one woman was in a serious condition with injuries to her face, while the other sustained moderate injuries.
The victims were transported by Best Care emergency services under advanced life support to a nearby hospital.
Vision Tactical spokesperson Mohamed Dabhelia confirmed that the women were attacked by a pit bull.
He said the community was left in shock following the attack.
Laudium police could not be reached for comment.
In South Africa, the Animal Matters Amendment Act (AMAA) stipulates that animal owners should be held responsible for the injuries caused by their animals.
“Any person as a result of whose negligence an animal causes injury to another person shall be guilty of an offence and liable on conviction to a fine or to imprisonment for a period not exceeding two years.”
The Pitbull Federation of South Africa’s president, Jeanette Erasmus, previously told Rekord that dog owners must be aware that they are responsible for the actions of their dogs and that all too often the focus was on the dog instead of what the law stipulates.
“You are solely responsible for what your dog does. You are legally obligated to ensure your dog cannot cause damage to any animal or person.”
The SPCA had yet to respond by the time of publishing.
