House staff tied up in Waterkloof Ridge armed robbery

“Two flat screen TVs and jewellery collections are among the items known to have been stolen and the value is unknown.”

Private security companies and CPF members responded to an armed robbery at Delphinus Street in Waterkloof Ridge on Monday afternoon.

The robbery was reported through a WhatsApp voice note that two men in balaclavas, of which one was armed, had tied up a housekeeper and a gardener before making off with stolen property.

CSI Security CEO Dana Bloem said when the reaction officers and CPF members responded, they found the cameras turned upward on the premises.

Bloem said the housekeeper confirmed that the suspects forced their way in and that one of them had a gun.

“The two suspects gained entry to the property by forcing the driveway gates open.

“They then got inside the house via a garage door that was open.”

Bloem said the value of the stolen property cannot be established at the moment.

“Two flat-screen TVs and jewellery collections are among the items known to have been stolen and the value is unknown.”

The suspects were inside the premises for approximately 10 minutes,” Bloem said.

“After we checked the footage, we discovered that the suspect drove a dark blue BMW 3 series, but the registration was not clear on the footage.

“We also see the suspects leaving the premises with the property.”

Bloem said the housekeeper managed to get free to report the incident after the suspects fled the scene.

“No physical injuries and no gunshots were reported but both the victims suffered emotional shock and are traumatised.”

Bloem urged residents to report any suspicious activity to the WhatsApp group and the CPF.
