Soshanguve police arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with the murder of a 34-year-old man who was shot multiple times in the early hours of Monday morning.
The arrest came after the police received a report from clinic 3 in block BB about a man who was shot three times in the upper body, according to police spokesperson Constable Nhlanhla Zondi.
Zondi said the victim was shot at a local tavern in block K.
“The patrons who took the victim to the clinic reported hearing gunshots from outside.
“When going to investigate, they found the shot man and they rushed him to the healthcare centre.”
A murder case docket was opened.
Zondi said the police launched a probe, which led to the suspect’s capture.
Soshanguve station commander Brigadier Mitchelle-Ann Toohey applauded the members for the swift response in the case.
“I want to urge police to apply the same sense of urgency to all other cases reported to the station.”
