Visit these libraries in the North

Community libraries open for the North Residents Monday to Saturday.

Pretoria North residents can still visit their local community libraries – and many do so regularly. Here are the libraries currently still serving the Pretoria North community.

Pretoria North community library:

Operating times: Monday to Thursdays from 10:00-17:50, Friday from 10:00-13:00, Saturday from 09:00-15:30.

Akasia community library:

Physical address: 158-166 Reginald Avenue

Operating times: Monday to Friday from 10:00-20:30, Saturday from 08:00-13:50. The library is closed on Sundays.

Mayville community library:

Operating times: open Monday to Friday from 10:00-17:50, Saturday from 09:00-12:50 and closed on Sundays.

Mayville library manager, Jenita Greess says, “library activities slowly declined during Covid-19 but doing well at the moment as both students and the elderly visit regularly, even though many now depended on phones for school projects and research purposes”.

The Hercules community library:

Operating times: every Monday to Friday from 09:00- 16:50, on Saturdays from 08:30-12:50. Closed on Sundays.
