Central NGO calls on residents to donate to needy this winter

Local NGO, Kitso Lesedi community development is asking residents to donate to its winter drive for the needy.
Blankets and winter clothes donated will be given to all the men, women, youth, elderly and all those living and sleeping on the streets.
“Most of us are privileged to be waking up in our warm bed and getting into a hot tub/shower every morning.
“Unfortunately, those living and sleeping on the streets (unsheltered) and in temporary shelters can only dream of such a life,” the NGO said in a released statement.
“Family and friends, please assist us to collect blankets and winter clothes for our unsheltered and sheltered homeless community,” Kitso Lesedi continued.
In addition to the clothes and blankets, residents are encouraged to donate a “blessing bag”.
The bag contains small day-to-day items one may need when living on the streets.
These can be made up of items such as toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, a washing rag and some Vaseline. Any other item one can think of that someone would need living on the streets are welcome.
“Let’s do it again this winter. Keep a blessing bag in our cars in case we find someone in need,” the statement continued.
“It is just a thoughtful, inspiring thing to do. Thank you for being such giving, loving and caring persons. Random acts of kindness take very little to change the life of just one person.”
Blankets, clothes and blessing bags can be dropped off at the NGO’s main office in Arcadia or you can call in to make arrangements.
