Two vehicles collide and leave three dead including a toddler on N1
The toddler suffered critical injuries and unfortunately succumbed to injuries while receiving emergency medical treatment on the scene.
Two vehicles collided in the east of Pretoria on the N1 leaving four injured and three deceased on Saturday Morning.
Tshwane emergency services spokesperson Charles Mabaso said the incident involved two light motor vehicles on the N1 north near Atterbury road, Menlyn.
He said occupants of both vehicles were found trapped in their vehicles.
Four patients were treated, however 3 (1 toddler + 2 adults) were certified dead on the scene.
“Emergency Services arrived on the scene to find 2 vehicles that had collided. Patients were still trapped in both vehicles.
“Two patients were immediately declared dead on scene by paramedics.”
He said the toddler with critical injuries unfortunately succumbed to injuries while receiving emergency medical treatment on the scene.
Mabaso said two other adults and another toddler recieved emergency medical treatment for critical injuries.
“A further patient sustained minor to moderate injuries.”
He said the injured occupants were transported to hospital for further medical care.
The cause of the accident is not yet known and is subject to law enforcement investigations.
