The security company also reported cable theft and three attempted break-ins.

Four vehicles were stolen in the Moot area in only a week, according to a local security company.

Kilnerpark Security released their crime statistics for last week, which included a house break-in at 31st and Newman streets.

Fortunately, nobody was injured but the thieves got away with two TVs.

According to the company, a blue Ford Lazer was stolen on 17th Avenue, a Toyota Etios was stolen on Lys Street and two other vehicles on Muller Street and Codonia Avenue.

Two petrol stations were robbed on Stanza Bobape and Paul Kruger streets.

Thieves managed to escape with stolen money.

The security company also reported cable theft and three attempted break-ins.

Resident Marieke Scheepers complained about cable theft in the area.

“Last week we were without power for six days due to cables being cut in several places in our street,” she said.

“It’s not just ordinary cable theft.

“I suspect that this is intentional damage and plain sabotage.

“Cables were cut and only about 1.5m of the cable was removed each time,” she said.

“Just enough to make nothing work so that a maintenance team has to come out to replace the cables.
