Security company foils attempted Moot house break-in
Shots were fired at security personnel as they pursued the suspects.
Kilner Park Security (KPS) foiled an attempted house break-in on Boegoebos Street in the early hours of Friday morning.
Three suspects were trying to enter a property when they were spotted by KPS at which moment they attempted to flee, according to a statement by the company.
The security company contacted the police for support.
SECURITY NOTIFIED OF SUSPECTS
After searching for the suspects, the team received a call about two suspects on a property in Wilkinson Street.
The KPS officer saw movement crossing Owen Avenue and again on the eastern side of the N1 highway.
With their night vision goggles, they saw suspects north on the eastern side of the N1, underneath the railway bridge.
They climbed over a security fence into Bernardus Street and stopped at another house where they were seen trying to break the palisade fence.
“After three minutes, a suspect entered the premises and another followed 30 seconds later,” KPS explained in a Facebook post.
“While hiding in the front garden, a person staying on the premises pulled out from the premises in a vehicle.
“The vehicle was stopped three blocks away by security officers who informed the driver of the situation.”
LOCAL SECURITY GROUPS ARE DEPLOYED
Three KPS vehicles were deployed as the situation became more complex.
ProShield also offered support.
“As a suspect ran east in Bernardus, he was blocked by two KPS security officers.
“He turned around and ran west in the direction of the N1.”
During this time, shots were fired at the KPS members.
“As the armed suspect got to the corner of Klapperbos and Magdalena Willers streets, he noticed security officers approaching and crawled under a bush next to the wall.”
Unfortunately, the suspects were not apprehended but the KPS team foiled their attempts at an armed break-in.
