Three fatally shot and three injured in a shooting near Rosslyn

The motive behind the shooting is unknown at this stage. The police are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder.

Tshwane police launched a manhunt after three people were shot dead and three others injured near Rosslyn last week.

According to a police spokesperson Warrant-Officer Johan van Dyk police responded to a shooting incident at Moshate Gardens near Rosslyn.

“The four gunmen were allegedly driving in a black BMW,” Van Dyk said.

The police found a silver Renault Clio parked outside a pub.

“Inside the vehicle a man and a woman were both shot dead and spent rifle cartridges were found at the scene.”

On proceeding there was another lifeless body of a man found away from the Renault Clio.

Van Dyk said the man was also shot and killed and it is believed he was the driver of the car.

“Spent cartridges and one live round were found next to the lifeless body,” Van Dyk added.

He said the police also received another report of two women and one man who were taken to George Mukhari hospital with bullet wounds.

“It is alleged that the incident happened in the same area as the first car shooting but we do not know if the shootings are related,” Van Dyk told Rekord.

NO MOTIVE YET

He said the motive behind the shooting was unknown at this stage.

The police are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder.

He urged anyone with information that can assist in the arrest of the suspects to contact local police or share information on the MySAPS App.

In a separate incident police in Soshanguve, north of Pretoria also launched a manhunt after 15 patrons were injured in a tavern shooting.

The incident happened on Sunday, June 11.

An unknown gunman pounced on the patrons while they were still enjoying themselves and started shooting.

The police said the motive of the shooting is unknown at this stage.

Fifteen counts of attempted murder are being investigated.
