Disabled young man goes for hip-hop dream
“No disability will stand in my way of becoming a hip-hop artist,” says Sihle Zitha aka Young Killer 24/7.
A young man born with a disability is chasing his dream of becoming a hip-hop artist.
Sihle Zitha (22), known as Young Killer 24\7 from Mamelodi East said his disability won’t stand in his way of becoming an artist.
He said his passion for music started at Alma School for Disability, where he participated in and won many singing competitions.
Young Killer said he was inspired by listening to Rihanna’s song called “Shine like a diamond”.
“The song inspired me and gave me courage that anything is impossible,” said Young Killer.

Today he is living his dream of becoming a hip-hop artist.
His first single was released in 2016 called “Don’t kill my vibe”, about people who were doubting him because of his disability.
He said nothing is impossible in life and whatever he wants to achieve he can achieve it no matter how he looks and his status.
“I am living with a disability and won’t let my disability bring me down or ruin my dream. I will reach my dream of becoming a big superstar in South Africa,” he said.
He has worked with his cousin, together releasing the album, Game Over in 2017.
Young Killer is currently working in the studio day and night on his album called Sithandaze. Consisting of eight tracks, it is expected to be released next year.
The rapper said the album was about all the challenges he was facing in his life.
“My album is great and it will inspire lots of young people about life challenges and it will soothe their souls. I want to thank my family for their support,” he said.
His message to youth and young people is to work hard because nothing comes easy.
“They must follow their dreams and must not be discouraged by anyone,” he said.
Young Killer was inspired by hip-hop legends Jay Z, Emtee, Drake and UK singer Ed Sheeran.
