Grade 12 learners encouraged to stay focused

The Dlalisa Moyeni Foundation provides stationery for matriculants in the township.

An organisation known for taking care of a boy child provided stationery to Grade 12 learners in the township.

On Friday, Dlalisa Moyeni Foundation visited Rephafogile Secondary School in the far east of Mamelodi to donate 180 pieces of stationery and encourage the learners to work hard in their final examination.

CEO Tumisang Skhosana said the final matric exams mean the end of a high school journey for learners around our country.

She said the school also hosted a valediction awards ceremony where learners were awarded certificates for performing very well in their different subjects and participating in different sports at school.

“The foundation has started a campaign to donate more than 1 000 much-needed stationery packs to matriculants in selected Mamelodi high schools.

“The foundation on Wednesday visited Rebane Laka Secondary School where we spent time with the matriculants, motivating them to work hard and supplying them with stationery packs,” said Skhosana.

The learners were encouraged to always be consistent in their school work and never give up.

“If you do a little bit every day, you are better than the person who doesn’t do anything at all.”

School principal Willeminah Mahlangu said the foundation had been very supportive of the school for the past three years.

“We invited the foundation to join us at our annual valediction awards ceremony and they brought gifts of much-needed tools to write the final matric examinations and words of encouragement to the matriculants.

“The foundation has changed the lives of our learners in so many ways.

“They don’t look after the boys only but help every learner, especially with social issues and donate school uniforms,” said Mahlangu.
