Wanted suspect arrested for murder in Kameeldrift

An investigation is underway to link the suspect to other violent crimes.

A 38-year-old wanted suspect was arrested on charges of murder and attempted murder in Kameeldrift, the multi-disciplinary police team said last night.

Spokesperson Colonel Katlego Mogale said according to reports a white Toyota Starlet was used to commit the crimes in Atteridgeville on November 12.

“Through intelligence information, the team traced the vehicle with the suspect to Kameeldrift.

The suspect’s vehicle was tactically contained and the suspect was positively identified, then arrested.”

The multi-disciplinary operation comprised tactical operations (Toms), CIT, Gauteng tactical response, Gaubullet, specialised operations, Tracker Connect, FRS-Falcon Risk Solutions and ICB-Insurance Crime Bureau proceeded to the suspect’s residence in Atteridgeville.

“Upon searching, they recovered two unlicensed firearms with an assortment of .45 and 9mm ammunition, cellphones and also confiscated the suspect’s vehicle for further investigation.”

Mogale said an investigation is underway to link the suspect, who is currently out on bail, to other violent crimes committed around Tshwane.
