Two arrested following shootout and chase

The other two suspects fled in a gold-shaded Toyota.

Two suspects have been arrested following an armed robbery in The Moot on January 26, according to Kilnerpark Security.

In a statement, the security firm reported that cell phones and cash were part of the robbers’ haul.

It said security and police responded swiftly as they chased the duo into CR Swart Drive.

The incident occurred at Waverley Plaza, and one suspect was apprehended at the centre during the panic that followed the shots.

According to the statement, “The other two suspects fled in a gold-shaded Toyota, stopped the vehicle in Silverton, and attempted to flee on foot. One of the suspects was apprehended, however, the third suspect evaded capture.”

Police had not yet commented at the time of publication.
