Mams entrepreneur appointed as innovation, talent manager for Commonwealth Youth Council in Africa

Neo Mohlabeng-Cholo will be responsible for driving innovation, empowerment, and youth development across Africa.

A 20-year-old internationally recognised award-winning author, speaker, and entrepreneur from Mamelodi has been appointed as the innovation and talent manager for the Commonwealth Youth Council Africa region.

Neo Mohlabeng-Cholo was officially appointed as innovation and talent manager for the African region on Friday.

He joins many young people who have been appointed to the regional delegation and is tasked with the responsibility of fostering innovation and digital transformation across Commonwealth member states in Africa.

As a young leader and advocate for youth development and innovation, Mohlabeng-Cholo brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role.

He will be responsible for driving innovation, empowerment, and youth development across Africa.

The 20-year-old internationally is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing Management studies at the University of Johannesburg.

He is the founder and CEO of Mosetsana Pads and African Neo Media.

He is also chairperson of Teens with Vision.

His entrepreneurial spirit has earned him recognition as one of the Top 35 participants worldwide in the Global Entrepreneurship Summer School in Mexico.

Mohlabeng-Cholo’s international experience extends to participation in the African-German Youth Exchange by Bridging Gaps under the Black Empowerment Youth Exchange in Germany, where he was one of 12 participants.

He also serves as the public relations and marketing adviser for The Eye of Hope Community Development Organisation.

He has served as one of the judges for The Diana Award 2024 in the United Kingdom.

Throughout his journey, Mohlabeng-Cholo has remained committed to his passion for empowering young people and driving positive change.

Dedication and perseverance have earned him recognition as a successful, dedicated, and passionate young leader.

The Commonwealth Youth Council (CYC) was founded in 2013, with the support of the Commonwealth Secretariat’s Commonwealth Youth Programme.

It was officially endorsed by Commonwealth Heads of Government at their biennial summit in Sri Lanka as an autonomous, youth-led organisation.

The CYC represents over 1.2 billion young people in the Commonwealth, making it a powerful voice for youth development and empowerment.

Its primary goal is to further advance the youth development agenda by integrating young people into the development work of the Commonwealth at national, regional, and pan-Commonwealth levels.
